Travel for Less Money This Year

Traveling for less money is becoming easier using by using technology and being flexible. The internet has opened up doors that once only belonged to travel agents. Today any one with a little computer know-how can find the vacation of their dreams at a price they could only imagine.

It all begins with the search. There are complete packages available through online services (that include airfare, hotel, and car rental). You can find some great deals on these packages, just make sure you know what your getting and who is guaranteeing each portion of your package.

Most all the hotel chain, air lines, and even some restaurants or car rentals have loyalty or rewards clubs. Most of them have no fees for becoming a member. All you have to do is fill out an application form (which they use to send you information on special promotions or deals most of the time) and you can receive discounts, free nights, or even upgrades.

Call your hotel directly to book your reservation. The 800 numbers might be convenient, but you will get your best deals by forming a relationship with the hotel staff directly. Talk with the manager, during normal business hours. He or she will be the one who will be able to offer you the best room at the best price. Make sure the staff knows that you are a loyalty club member.

Be persistent in your search for the great deal. Check the airlines and the hotel for discounts before you travel and when you check in. Always remember to let the staff know you are a member of the loyalty club. Even if you don’t get a discount, you may end up with an upgrade – especially if you build a rapport with the staff.

Take your trip during the off-season. Everything will cost less AND you will have the location more to yourself. Another great time to travel is the shoulder seasons (the times bordering the peak and off seasons). You can still get a great deal, but you also experience the location more at its best.

For the best discounts you need to be able to travel at the last minute. Just a few short years ago, traveling last minute would cost you three times the normal price. Today – due mainly to the flow of information offered by the internet – last minute travel can save you as much as fifty percent.

Traveling for less money doesn’t mean you have to settle for less from your experience. You can get all of the top benefits if you are willing to shop around for the right price and you are able to travel at the best times.

Another great way to save money while traveling is using Lowfares.com it helps you find cheap airline tickets to practically any location.

I would most definitely try to call the hotels. In this way you often can bargain the price a bit down.
When you want to find the cheapest flight tickets there are some helpful sites on the web. I usually use momondo.com and kayak.co.uk. These sites search the sites of airlines and booking agencies for free and help you
    find the cheapest ticket available.
