It’s 9:30 a.m. Sunday, and CODEPINK members hailing from California to Massachusetts are swarming CODEPINK headquarters here in Mercury Cafe in Denver in pink t-shirts, pink floral dresses, and pink scarves,. Beneath the strings of red and white pink lights criss-crossing the ceiling, waitresses hustle with menus, coffee and omelettes, while some CODEPINKers type furiously on their laptops, others sketching signs for our first rally of the week later today in Union Station, and some bursting into the room with suitcases and hugs for far-away friends.

It’s a who’s-who for many activists. Yesterday, with a screening of Michael Moore’s “Sicko” running in the cafe’s upstairs theater, health care reform activist Donna Smith (of SiCKOCure.org) spent time with CODEPINK co-founder Medea Benjamin. They made a bet, Smith wrote yesterday on DailyKos:

“The bet?” she writes.  “Out of Iraq first or guaranteed, publicly funded, privately delivered healthcare?”
