Rocky Mountain News posted a follow up on CODEPINK activist Alicia Forrest who was brutally assaulted by a police officer in Denver during the DNC. The Youtube of her getting racked in the face with a baton and arrested has received over 1,000,000 hits. That-plus her fabulous sense of style-has granted her “cyber-lebrity” status according to the Denver based news outlet. Alicia is still standing up for peace, pursuing her design career and maybe even moving to Alaska (totally unrelated to anything “Palin”). And check out the story on the Denver Police force’s new t-shirt with the slogan, “WE GET UP EARLY, to BEAT the crowds.” Also written across the back of the shirt is “2008 DNC.’ The t-shirts have been called “tongue-in-cheek” (more like “baton-in-face”) and are apparently quite popular with the local and neighboring police communities. If Alicia pursues a civil suit I hope she wears one of these to her court date. Or maybe submitted as ‘Exhibit B’.
