In the past few weeks, we have seen an outpouring of love and support for the women of Gaza through our International Women’s Day actions.  Over 25 fundraisers have taken place across the U.S., 60 delegates signed up to travel to Gaza, and we have received funds for over 2,500 baskets of goodies and aid to be delivered to the women of Gaza!

The delegates are arriving in Cairo today and will be traveling to the Rafah border tomorrow to attempt to enter Gaza. The border continues to be closed.  As Medea reported from her last trip several weeks ago, a football stadium of aid is sitting at the border, much of it rotting.  Our delegation has received an invitation from the United Nations, letters from U.S. Congressmen and women, and Medea is meeting with the U.S. ambassador to Egypt in order to secure the delegation’s ability to cross.  We will keep you posted to their success in getting into Gaza here on the PINKTANK, so please stay tuned.

The bombing may have stopped – for now – but with the border closed, aid halted, and no long-term peace agreement, the crisis continues.  Please get involved by supporting women and peace this International Women’s Day.
