Sasha - deepest love to you, sistah.

No terror is greater for enslavers, colonists, those who are willing to employ genocide to ensure white domination, privilege, wealth and greed than an bunch of Black folks daring - and winning - to liberate themselves.

White people will never forget or forgive this act and will make Haitians pay until ever minuscule iota of racism is smashed.

The demonization of Haitian victims has, horribly, been seen before, during Katrina. Today I saw a picture of a 15 year old girl, shot in the head for looting. She had taken three framed pictures, probably not worth much in dollars. She died for that. Rebecca Solnit wrote about this lack of compassion in her latest book. I'm sorry I don't have the link to it right now.
It's also interesting what a bad word 'reparations' is in our current politics. Haiti paid reparations for freeing itself from slavery; I forget how many billions, and how many years it took.
I also, Sasha's fairness notwithstanding, cannot see why 15,000 or more US soldiers cannot 'protect' aid workers sufficiently to distribute the aid. I think it must be racism. And the real reason those troop numbers have been sent is to take maintain US control of Haiti, which, unfortunately has just been shown to sit atop vast oil reserves. A fact that has been known for years but not publicised. This explains alot about why Haiti hasn't been allowed to have a democratic government.
