CODEPINK Ontario to Hold Days of Action to Commemorate One Year of Genocide in Gaza
TORONTO, WINDSOR, Ontario — On the eve of the one year anniversary of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the Ontario chapter of CODEPINK will hold two days of actions to bring attention to the immediate need for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the occupation of Palestine.
CODEPINK Ontario will hold a rally on October 5 at 2:00 PM as part of a global day of action in solidarity with the Palestinian people, marking one year of violence and devastation in Gaza. The demonstration is part of a worldwide call for justice, demanding full liberation and the right of return for Palestinians.
On October 6 at 5:30 PM, CODEPINK Windsor, alongside Windsor4Palestine, Unity for Palestine, and Socialist Action Canada, will lead a march in downtown Windsor to mark "One Year of Genocide, One Year of Resistance." The march will begin at The Great Canadian Flag and proceed to Windsor City Hall, demanding an immediate ceasefire and honoring the martyrs of the Palestinian resistance.
“We march to demand a ceasefire and to honor the martyrs who have lost their lives in the fight for Palestinian liberation,” said CODEPINK Ontario organizer Anne Kamath.
As part of a global movement, this rally and march calls for an end to the violence against the Palestinian people and demands accountability for those responsible. Peace activists hope tol emphasize the urgent need for international action to halt the genocide in Gaza and support the Palestinian struggle for justice.
